Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
In short: we use what you send us only to answer and fill your request, we don't sell visitor data, the site has no ad trackers, and any business can ask to be removed from our data (Data removal).
Who we are
Prospect Miner (“we”, “us”) is a small business run by Andrew Ornelas, a sole proprietor based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, USA. We build business-to-business (B2B) lead lists of local businesses and, optionally, run email outreach for our clients. This policy explains what we collect through www.theprospectminer.com and how we handle the business contact data in our lists.
Information we collect from you
When you fill out our request form or email us, we receive what you choose to send, which can include:
- your name, work email, company and phone number;
- the address or market, radius, industries and package you're interested in;
- anything else you write in your message.
Like almost every website, our host automatically receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
How we use it
- to reply to your request, send a quote, and deliver and support the lists or services you order;
- to send invoices and keep business and tax records;
- to protect the site and the request form from spam and abuse.
We don't add you to a marketing newsletter without asking, and we don't use your form details to build our lead lists.
We don't sell visitor data
We do not sell, rent or share the information you give us through this website or by email for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with the service providers below, who handle it on our behalf, or when the law requires it.
Service providers
- Netlify hosts this website and processes request-form submissions (Netlify Forms), including automated spam filtering. Netlify may keep server logs of visits.
- Payments. We don't take payments on this website. Orders are invoiced separately, and the invoicing or payment provider named on your invoice processes your payment.
- Email and file tools. We use standard business email and cloud spreadsheet tools (for example, Google Sheets for list delivery) to communicate with you and deliver your order.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries that don't turn into an order: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Customer records (orders, invoices, correspondence): as long as you're a customer and afterwards as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes (generally up to 7 years).
- Removal requests: we keep a minimal “do not include” record (for example, a business name and email address) so that removed contacts stay out of future lists.
Business contact data in our lead lists
Our lead lists contain business contact information about local businesses — business name, a contact's name and role, a work email address, phone number, business address and industry. We compile it from publicly available sources such as business websites, online directories, chamber of commerce and association listings, and public advertising listings. We collect it for B2B prospecting: so our clients can offer products and services to those businesses.
We don't collect sensitive information (such as health, financial-account or government ID data) and we don't include consumer or patient data. We share list data only with the clients who order a list, under terms that require them to follow anti-spam and telemarketing laws and to honor opt-outs.
Data removal: how to get your business or contact removed
If you're a business owner or employee and you don't want your information in our data, email hello@theprospectminer.com with the subject “Data removal request” and include the business name, website, and the email address(es) and phone number(s) you want removed. You don't need to give a reason.
We'll confirm by email, remove the information from our working data, and add it to our suppression list so it isn't included in future lists — normally within 10 business days. We can't recall copies of lists already delivered to clients before your request, but you can unsubscribe from any client's emails using the opt-out link they're required to include.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@theprospectminer.com and we'll respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity or your connection to the business before acting on a request.
California and other U.S. states: residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws may have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing,” and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Some of these laws may not apply to a business of our size or to business contact data, but we honor these requests anyway. We don't “share” information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may use an authorized agent to make a request.
Outside the U.S.: our lists focus on U.S. businesses. If you're in the EU, UK or another region with data-protection laws and believe we hold your data, contact us and we'll handle your request under the applicable law.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will notify you if required by law.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses. They're not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page before they take effect.
